Always up to date: The employee magazine “intern” has accompanied life at Europe’s largest shoe retailer DEICHMANN for many years. Since 2008, KOCH ESSEN has been responsible for designing the magazine, which appears in 27 countries and 14 languages.
Because communication at a leading fashion retailer like DEICHMANN should of course also be modern, we recently carried out a comprehensive relaunch of “intern.” The goal was to develop a contemporary employee magazine with high-quality visuals and relevant content that meets new requirements such as integration with digital channels and increasingly serves as a medium for dialogue with employees.
This smart cross-media approach shows how print magazines can remain relevant even in the digital age. Excellent work, thought the Mercury Awards jury as well, crowning “intern” as the 2025 winner in the category Employee Publications – Magazines.
